What would be the cleanest way to disable image updates of Flux components and instead only rely on the regular Flux version upgrades, which renovate also supports?
The issue is that when newer major version of Flux is released, it might introduce changes to CRDs. As components which belong to newer release are released before new version of Flux itself gets released, renovate bumps the images, thus causing breakages due to API changes.
Ideally, image updates for Flux2 should be disabled by default due to this issue. And response from Flux developers:
