This is the default search engine for Wiki.js and provides basic search capabilities out-of-the-box.

⚠️ This engine is very limited (basic title + description search) and it's recommended to switch to a more capable engine if possible. {.is-warning}

This engine has no configuration options and is selected by default when installing Wiki.js.

Setup

  1. In the Wiki.js administration area, click on Search Engine in the sidebar.
  2. Select DB - Basic as the search engine.
  3. Click the Apply button to save and initialize the search engine.

Note that the Rebuild Index function doesn't do anything on this engine.
