I've been trying to track down the source of a change that I originally thought was an upgrade to Zotero 6, but perhaps that's not what's happening. Previously, when I'd export via Better BibTex (thanks for this by the way - it is amazing), I'd get a result that was something like this - when there were annotations, they'd include a markdown link back to the original source:
I know Zotero 6 changed how annotations worked somewhat. When I copy directly (using their Quick Copy feature) from the annotations and paste in a Markdown document, I get this quote, as expected, with the link back to source. However, when I export to a .bib file using Better BibTex, I get annotations that look like this, with the Markdown stripped:
I unfortunately don't have a historical version of the .bib file to compare with prior to the upgrade to Zotero 6, but I used to get the annotations with Markdown links, so at some point along the way, they must have dropped off. I didn't actively change any settings between the previous Zotero version and Zotero 6 upgrade.
I've looked through the forums and issues on Zotero and here and can't find anything - but I very much apologize if this is a duplicate post! Thanks in advance for your help!
Edit: I think we've tracked it down to something happening with Better BibTex in the Zotero forum here.
