what about making earlyoom zfs arc aware, so it helps shrinking arc when there is memory pressure ?
there are a LOT of reports in the virtualization community about oom killer kicking in too early on systems without swap but with zfs, killing virtual machines.
by default , half of the system memory is being used by arc cache (which is similar to ordinary buffers/caches) - but it apparently sometimes be freed fast enough to avoid oom killer kicking in.
maybe we can adress this via earlyoom ? (as it is both hard to adress at kernel oom killer level and also hard to adress at zfs level)
