Home Assistant Piper add-on version 2.1.1 - extra pause between sentences is gone #41

Description

The problem
Since the update of the Home Assistant Piper TTS add-on to version 2.1.1 the automatically added extra pause between sentences has been removed.
To my understanding this is related to the --sentence-silence key not being used any more.
This unfortunately makes the vocal output less natural. Each pause between sentences is virtually identical to the pauses between words.

The request is to add this option back into the Piper add-on.
Better would be to make this an optional function, and even better would be to be able to set an adjustable pause length.

What version of Home Assistant Core has the issue?
2025.11.1 with Piper add-on version 2.1.1

What was the last working version of Home Assistant Core?
2025.11.1 with Piper add-on version 1.6.4

What type of installation are you running?
HAOS

Integration causing the issue
Wyoming Protocol Piper

Diagnostics information
I am solely using the Piper add-on for TTS messages in Home Assistant, using the Dutch Piper voice nl_BE-nathalie-medium.
