Support for programming the configuration over WebSerial or WebBluetooth

Hey,

Do you think it'd be useful to add the ability to program the radio using WebSerial or WebBluetooth? I see that there's a logging console hooked up to the serial port - perhaps it'd be possible to do the following:

• go to a static site which lets you read and write configuration
• this connects via WebSerial or WebBluetooth
• the serial connection is not used for logging, but for programming
• there's a simple programming protocol which lets you read and write the entire configuration

I can look into this, assuming you think it'd be useful.

I was planning on starting something like this eventually. Do you know Android programing ?

I do not, hence my interest in WebSerial. I'd think you could quite easily use it from a mobile browser or roll into a webview-based app for Android or iOS.

i thought the same way. Will check this weekend what i can do/find and maybe lets start a new way to interact with them ...

for BT it should be a few mods, but for serial, I guess it should replace the logs printed on it to responsive to the serial commands right?

I think so. Logs may be available either if compiled with a debug flag or some button combination at boot.

Bluetooth feels like a secondary priority and I think there is slightly more work involved as I think the KISS/TNC interface uses that?

I think the simplest protocol would be to just read/write files in spiffs directly, if possible.
