When I'm importing Version 0.3.6-canary.43 in unity 2021.3.43f1 it logs below error on console.

The error is on this line

internal File RiveFile => m_riveFile?.TryGetTarget(out var file) == true ? file : null;

Looks like the cause may be the m_riveFile?.TryGetTarget, since at compilation time TryGetTarget isn't guaranteed to run meaning file is not guaranteed to be assigned.

Locally, it compiled if I changed it to

internal File RiveFile => (m_riveFile != null && m_riveFile.TryGetTarget(out var file) == true) ? file : null;

Thanks for reporting this. It looks like the issue is only happening on specific Unity versions. We have a fix coming soon.

Could you try v0.3.7-canary.87 and let us know if you still see the issue there?

Note that v0.3.7-canary.87 is not a release, but rather a release candidate with a potential fix, so it shouldn't be used in production.
