Binary library not available for tvOS.

Request

Please add support the tvOS platform by supplying a binary .a library for it in future updates.

Note

Enabling tvOS platform on the iOS library in the Unity package adds it to the XCode project but fails when building with this error:

This should now be supported in v0.3.8-canary.26 and will be in the next official release (v0.3.8)

Thanks a million for addressing this so quickly.

Building the project now does work in XCode without any errors. Unfortunately running it on an Apple TV causes the app to crash immeditaly during startup.

Tested with URP example project in v0.3.8-canary.26 with Unity 2022.3.30f1.
Also happens with the basic example with v0.3.8-canary.26 with Unity 2022.3.30f1.
Also tried both projects with v0.3.8-canary.36 but that also didn't work.
Same thing using v0.3.8-canary.26 as a package in my own project which runs in Unity 6000.0.46f1.

When I comment out UnityRegisterRenderingPluginV5(&UnityPluginLoad, &UnityPluginUnload); in register_plugin.mm the app does run but Rive animations obviously do not work. So the issue does seem to come from loading the library.

Devices tested on:

• Apple TV HD Previously Apple TV (4th generation) Model A1625 tvOS version 13.3 (17K5445a)
• Apple TV 4K (1st generation) Model A1842 (32GB) tvOS version 13.4 (17L5251a)

Strange, we didn't encounter this issue during our local tests. We're looking into this!

It looks like your tvOS versions might be too low. Rive currently targets tvOS 16 as a minimum, so that could be contributing to the issue you're seeing.

Are you able to upgrade and test again?

I can confirm that it does work when updating to tvOS 18.6 (22M84).
I was not able to test a lower tvOS version because there are no signed IPSW files available.

Increased the 'target minimum tvOS version' for my project settings to 16.0.
It might be a good idea to also change it in the example projects.
This resolves the issue for me. Thanks again for addressing this issue.
