Drive Desktop Icons do not ever appear 'closed'

Describe the bug
A drive icon on the desktop does not indicate it is closed when the Finder.app window for that drive is closed.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Check the Macintosh HD drive; it appears open.
2. Double Click on the Macintosh HD drive.
3. Check the Macintosh HD drive; it still appears open.
4. Close the Macintosh HD Finder window.
5. Check the Macintosh HD drive; it still appears open.

Expected behavior
When the Finder window for the Drive's Desktop Icon is not open, then it should not appear open.
