Using IB TWS for Order Monitoring #1504

@adnan-trader it doesn't sound right that you need to "Transmit" orders. But I don't use TWS... If it was me, I would try running the Gateway instead for a while, and see if it resolves the problem you describe in the other ticket. The stack handler logs will tell you everything you need to know about what PST does with orders |

Yes, there are settings that need to be changed if you're using TWS, but I'm going from memory here. There is one for ignoring warnings when submitting orders. Sorry I don't have the exact language, but you should be able to recognize it if you look. I can't remember if there was an explicit setting for automatically submitting API orders too, but if you see something like that, obviously that will need to be enabled too. Hope that helps. |

I am still learning on how pst works. I decided to use IB TWS instead of Gateway so that I have something to see when orders get placed.
I notice that when a signal is generated that I get multiple orders for a quantity of 1 as expected given the algo limit, a combination of market and limit orders, and sometimes the orders are executed automatically and sometimes it requires me to hit the Transmit button.
Obviously, if you are using the Gateway, there would be no human interaction.
It would seem that using TWS would give you some control of seeing the orders and submitting them if they all required the user to Transmit.
Have others tried using TWS to understand the orders generated?
Have you seen the same behaviour?
Why do some orders get executed automatically while others require Transmitting?
