By specifically creating the grid extra sample, it can be used to estimate the insitu offset along with the main data set this is to attempt to counter the lack of temperature information when estimating the offset through the sphere method.
This might allow a better estimation of the true offset, it is to be checked what gives better results for the sphere methods just one grid the main one or multiple grids at different temperatures.
