Blockpart doesn't work on layout

What actually happens?

Blockpart is not working in the layout

I noticed that if I add @BlockPart('header') to views, e.g. page.blade.php, it works, but it does not work in the layouts folder, e.g. for app.blade.php

Steps to reproduce

Create block part e.g. header and try to add to app.blade.php (on layouts folder).

Old issue but I have some information to add. I don't know if this is what @r-chrzan was dealing with but I've noticed that adding @blockpart('header') in the layout does not trigger the WP Interactivity API to kick in where as it works when adding to a page template. I don't think this is an actual issue with the blade directive but incompatibilities between WordPress's rendering process and Blade's layout rendering process.

I think the reason this fails is because it runs after wp_head() has already run meaning the necessary filters haven't been added before wp_head() outputs anything. Notably, if you're using the new Interactivity API, the necessary script modules won't be loaded.

I've been able to fix this by running the get_block_template() within a View Composer and saving it to a variable.
