Download point data time series?

Would it be possible to add a function that implements PRISM's Explorer feature (i.e. download tabular time series data for a point or series of points)? My specific use case would be to automate periodic updates of monthly climate data for a small number of point locations without downloading the entire rasters as an intermediate step.

I don't believe this is possible. The web service API only downloads the entire grid. However, they did just release a new web service, so I'll keep this open while I digest the new web service documentation.
