Superflore Status

• Thanks to @vermaete for his fixes to clean-up the generated recipes:

  • Small change requested for SPDX: use 'AND' instead of '&' ros-infrastructure/superflore#327
• New fix to increase timeout values when GitHub gets overloaded and starts to report HTTP 429: utils: back off longer and correctly on retry_on_exception (#311) ros-infrastructure/superflore#328
• New PR series to modernize the superflore tool with pyproject.toml, linting, and pytest: Superflore Tooling Modernization ros-infrastructure/superflore#329

  • This adds support for the transitive dependencies to all generated recipes. The missing build_export_depend and buildtool_export_depend lines in package.xml will finally get represented in the bitbake recipes. This eliminates the need for adding bbappends for missing dependencies. 150 to 200 bbappends can be removed outright, and 50 to 100 can be modified to remove redundant changes.

  • Small change needed to how PYTHON SOABI was detected
  • Verified that ros2/examples built and ran successfully with both SDK and on-target (in QEMU)

  • Review showed that the changes matched python3targetconfig. A preliminary investigation shows that inheriting python3targetconfig directly may be a better alternative. More testing is needed.
