sort for folders

There is a sort key for ordering markdown files, is there some similar functionalities for sorting folders? Use case, see below screenshot, I would like Preparation to come before Modelling.

No, only files can be sorted. You can create a /Preparation.md file (or /Preparation/index.md) with a sort key and some content that will be shown when clicking on "Preparation >" (and it will expand the folder in the nav).

Alternatively, you could number the folders the order them but this will also affect the URL so probably not ideal.

There is currently no way to add metadata to folder. This would probably require some JSON metadata files for folders, like /Preperation/Preparation.json (which is a Eleventy directory data files, so it would apply to all files as well).
