Is there a good way to use .selectAsync with Flutter?

I've got a lot of streams being exposed through AsyncProviders and I thought I could use selectAsync to select only the data I needed to cut down on redraws in my Flutter containers. But calling ref.watch on the return value of selectAsync gives me a Future and I don't know how to deal with that in a Flutter build method.

Is there something obvious I'm missing?

You could use a FutureBuilder

When you have an AsyncValue you can use myAsyncValue.when method in the build of your widget so you can handle the error, loading, and data cases.
