Tried another controller or cleaning the rotary encoder under the knob?

When I use the top row of knobs on my xtouch mini to adjust things like
exposure and temperature the adjustments don't do what I want: they jump up
and down (instead of in one direction), randomly move to a super low value,
slow response time.
I used MIDI2LR for years, loved it, but I haven't used it in over a year
because of this issue.

I have written this solution before.. I jumped through hoops for days until deciding to open the unit up and use some Isopropyl to clean the encoders. You have to open the unit up.. 6 screws.. pull the silver slider cap off to remove the circuit. The encoder knobs pull off and the covers snap in and out.. Drip some Isopropyl alcohol into the encoders and give them a twizzel... Pad dry and let it air dry for 20 mins. re assemble, and hey ho smooth non jumpy encoders. I have done this a couple of times.. Some how the encoder surfaces must oxidise a little bit. Anyway it solved my problem. |
