Better instructions for updating an email #6638

Description

@FireLemons

What type(s) of user does this feature affect?

  • volunteers
  • supervisors
  • admins

Description

Currently when a user updates their email using the form on the edit profile page, the page refreshes and no message is shown. The user should then check their email for an email with a confirmation link to finish updating their email but because there's no message, this may just seem like the email failed to update.

Additionally, when an admin updates a volunteer's email, this message is displayed: "Volunteer was successfully updated. Confirmation Email Sent. " This is misleading because the email hasn't finished updating and "Confirmation Email Sent" could be interpreted as an email notifying the user of the update to their account was sent.

After a user updates their email using the form, display a message telling the user to click the link in their new email to finish updating their email. After an admin updates another user's email, display a similar message.

The email is pretty short, but a lot of the text isn't necessary.

Change the email body to be a confirmation link with text: "Click here to finish updating your email." followed by "If you weren't expecting this email, please disregard.".
