Where is a recent `riscv64gc-unknown-linux-musl` docker image?

Hello,

I was looking for a recent ghcr.io/rust-cross/rust-musl-cross:riscv64gc-unknown-linux-musl image to compile a Slint app, which requires some pre-build actions. The problem is, that the latest image is Ubuntu 22.04, which does not allow to apt-install most packages, because the mirrors seem to be down or not available.

Could you tell my why that image is so old and not Ubuntu 24.04 like the others? Am I missing something?

Unfortunately, I can't any more. I've put a lot of effort into this and did not manage to get it working with the official image. One major problem for me also was that the base of the image is Ubuntu 22.04, where most of the additional apt packages were no longer available on any mirror I tried. Ubuntu seems to have cleaned up their servers rigidly and riscv64-musl got lost on the way.

In the meantime I found out more about riscv64gc-unknown-linux-musl compilation. There is A LOT to cover to provide a working docker image. I think one problem might be that Ubuntu is not the best platform to cover this - Ubuntu even stopped providing riscv64-musl packages since 24.04.

Maybe you can take inspiration from my custom fork changes to `cross:

cross-rs/cross@main...sandreas:cross:main

I mixed up several images (alpine, debian trixie) to somehow make it work. I don't know which steps are really necessary and basically hacked around until it worked, but I got a working version in my docker image sandreas/cross-riscv64-linux-musl.
