Description
The last IEC 61508 issued standard from 2010 does not include Rust as a recommended language or highly recommended language (due to pre dating Rust).
It's my understanding that there is a new draft version of the standard, but it still does not include any mention of Rust.
This will make things more difficult for any company trying to go down the Rust route and claiming compliance.
Is anybody able to check this is correct and if so:
Is there any way we can propose Rust gets included into the upcoming standard change ?
I think without this, companies will fall back to C++ as it's easier to claim compliance.
