Why are you interested in joining the Safety Critical Rust Consortium?
Airbus products include many systems that require DO178 certification. Progress in tooling and methods that would allow some portion of our future systems to be developed using Rust is of particular interest to team I work for. The team has more of a focus on information security where Rust has demonstrated advantages over languages we typically use in the field (e.g. C/C++). Beyond that, members of my team also strongly believe that the front-loaded rigor imposed by rustc can only translate into more robustness software. This improved robustness is expected to have a measurable impact in reducing the (large) amount of time required by multiple iterations in the product design lifecycle.
