Project Roadmap & Enhancements for 2025

Hey everyone! 👋

I wanted to start this discussion to share some planned updates and improvements for this project over the coming months. While the core functionality is solid, I’ll be working on adding new features, components, and refining TypeScript usage to enhance the developer experience.

This is also a great opportunity to gather community feedback—if you have suggestions for improvements or features you'd like to see this year, feel free to drop them here! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Planned Updates & Improvements:

1. Deprecating router.options.ts: Now that the default scroll behavior PR has been merged, the custom router.options.ts file will no longer be needed. This will likely be released in Nuxt 3.16.2.
2. New rich-text.vue Component: I’d like to add a rich-text.vue component to the /common components folder. This would serve as a general-purpose component to help parse JSON metafields and HTML data. My plan is to model it after Hydrogen’s RichText.tsx but keep it more minimal in scope.
3. TypeScript Improvements: It would be great to have another dev review this project's TypeScript integration. While I’m not a fan of overdoing types that are naturally inferred, I recognize that the current TypeScript implementation in pages and components could use some refinement.
4. Upgrade to Nuxt v4: When Nuxt 4 officially releases, I plan to upgrade the project accordingly.
5. New Storefront API Features: As the Storefront API evolves, I’d like to integrate any new features that are too good to pass up. If you spot any upcoming features that could be beneficial to include in Nitrogen, feel free to share!
