Description
Make a video explaining the practical side of observing an exoplanet transit, thus getting data to use in EXOTIC, applicable for all self-owned/uni/school telescopes, MObs, and LCO.
Expected length: 30 - 60min
Topics covered:
- Basic theory (lightcurve, comparison stars, ...)
- Camera/sensor characteristics and settings (full well, nonlinearity, binning, ...)
- Telescope & mount choice and useage (aperture, focal length in combination with camera, meridian flips, ...)
- Explanation of image calibration methods (darks, flats, bias)
- Best practices and resolving common issues
- Link to further reading & EW Slack for questions
