How to align visible light and infrared images?

Hello, thank you for your work. I'm new to building facade defect inspection. Does this repository support the registration of infrared and visible light images? I see this work is in the future plans. I'd also like to ask how you plan to achieve the alignment of visible light and infrared images. Are traditional feature detection algorithms ineffective, or are other methods such as camera parameter adjustments or deep learning methods used? Could you provide specific ideas?

Hello, at the moment the alignement of IR and RGB image is implemented (manual alignment). A pre-alignement is proposed for the different drone models, but some fine-tuning is generally needed as the intrinsic parameters of each camera might deviate slightly. The automatic alignment is planned in the near future --> I did some test based on canny-edge processing and optimization function. Another possible approach is indeed to used feature matching, which was not super successful in my previous attempts... I have to dig a bit more. Kind regards
