Help understanding the "text input" feature

Hello,
Please help me understand the "text input" feature better. When I click the "Text" button, the OSD keyboard appears and I can type text. However:

1. Is it possible to select a location on the page where I want to type my text?

2. How do I close this input? Only way to close the OSD keyboard seems to be the "Back" button from the android 3-button-navigation at the bottom. However the cursor is still active and blinking.

You can't choose the location of the text. Basically with text input you get a full page text editor and that is it. The canvas is a page and not a box inside the page.

How do I close this input? Only way to close the OSD...
