Inconsistencies in the LIANA consensus database results #218

Hi,

we noticed two inconsistencies in our cell–cell communication analysis using the LIANA consensus database.

SMAD3 is predicted to be a receptor, although to our knowledge, it functions as a transcription factor.

Directionality issue: In your consensus database, the interaction is listed as CD38–PECAM1; however, in CellPhoneDB, it appears as PECAM1–CD38 (also noted there as a receptor–receptor interaction). The same directionality as in CellPhoneDB is reported in the literature (see PMID: 7542249).

It would be great if these points could be considered in future updates and improvements of the database.
