get rid of the upper right miniterminal input box

Make things look like this:

Except for discoverability, add a little button to the left of the input to toggle terminal mode.

Also, replace this blue banner by some other clear indicator of state (what, I don't know) that you are in terminal mode:

The indicator -- whatever it is -- should not move content up and down.
