Vimeo captions can be turned on but not turned off

Expected behaviour

Captions can be enabled and disabled via captions button or settings > caption options.

Actual behaviour

Captions can be enabled, but not disabled.
Note, the attached CodePen includes css to hide .plyr__captions.
