Reply Callbacks not working on MacOS

When trying to use the reply_field, the lambda doesn't fire. There is no error message either, it looks like it is silently failing. This can be reproduced with the example in the repository.

Environment:

MacOS: M2 Chip running Tahoe 26.0
Python: 3.13.1
desktop-notifier: 6.2.0

Do you see this issue with all of the examples or only with examples/synchronous.py?

I can close this issue then since it doesn't seem to be a bug more of the issue of having to hook into the macOS event loop?

Yes, I believe this can be closed.

The documentation does call out that event loop integration is required on macOS for callbacks. However, if you think it's worth putting this out also with the examples directly, feel free to send me a PR.
