Two entries for anarmam with identical data in list display.
It is a complicated one. @funderburkjim may investigate it further.

Scott's remarks are as follow

anarman Two Headwords (looking alike) I am uncertain whether the two Headwords "anarman" should be further distinguished in the Hierarchy List. The Eytmology (parsing) of course is different, and I see that the "accent" as well is different. However, the appearance in the Hierarchy list remains identical. I had been asking just too many times earlier (and then left it as no one bothered to attend to it), to make the accents shown by default.

In this case, the first entry has an accent (belonging to Vedic literature) and the 2nd one is without any accent (belonging to the later literature that पाणिनि refers as भाषा).

Though MW72 had ignored the accents, later realisation forced MW to duly put the accents in MW99; but, unfortunately the CDSL team has resorted to "ignore" this very prominent feature of MW99 while displaying the data.

There is some issue. I do not see any accent in MW even after activiating Accents. Some coding error maybe @funderburkjim

To see udAtta accent in mw, IAST output required, as well as 'accent show'.

See for example, the List window at the left doesn't contain the accent mark (even in iast), though the Result window at the right contains the accent mark.

I believe it's a minor UI issue.

In the left pane, we could try to use 'k2' (key2 in xml) for the display portion of the link

But this '$key2' is NOT the one with accents!

So my estimate is that changing code to show accents in left pane would be tricky.

We can leave this issue open labeled as enhancement

A tentative solution for mw

I changed to show the k2 (key2) in list panel for

• list display for mw
• Server display: Standard Romanization

Not only are any accents shown, but also any other 'markup', such as '-', that appears in k2.

At least the 'anarman' example is clarified:
