bower-update trying to update every new build? (node 0.12.*)

Around the time I started using, node 0.12.*, bower-update started acting strange:

➜  my-fancy-repo git:(master) bower-update

Any clue what's happening here?

I could reproduce this with angular but I’ve never seen that with any packages I use myself. Very odd.
