smoother dependency of destiny was archived on 2025-12-19

Trying to install scSLIDE, but the dependency destiny can't be installed because smoother has been recently archived from CRAN.

Do you have solution suggestions?

Is this version from meta-CRAN trust worthy?

I got around it with this:
packageurl <- "https://cran.r-project.org/src/contrib/Archive/smoother/smoother_1.1.tar.gz"
install.packages(packageurl, repos = NULL, type = "source")

I could install destiny normally after this

Hi both, thank you so much for pointing this out and post a workaround. I did not realize that smoother is recently archived. I will try to address this issue asap. In the meantime, I have updated the readme file on GitHub to warn other users about this issue.
