How can the version reported by the app be more recent than the one reported in flatpak?

I screenshoted this on my bazzite install. Right is from the devices tab, left from the 'bazaar' manager. Get the same version when using the command line 'flatpak'.

PS: tracked the version number of the app to this line. not sure what this is loading.

PS2: over usb, used the installer on the edge browser. after installation, reloaded web interface. version is still not 5.22.4, but 5.21.3.

PS3: my other device, different chip, works fine and updated fine. So I think maybe I just have a defective device, where writes are not sticking somehow.
