Errno 13 Permission denied: './expand_filesystem.sh'

I have set everything up according to the instructions but when I try to run I get an error on line 180 in startup.py -> subprocess.Popen("./expand_filesystem.sh")

Anybody have an idea about what is happening?

Note: I am using raspbian buster lite.
