This file provides guidance to Claude Code (claude.ai/code) when working with code in this repository.
Development:
bin/dev # Start server (port 3020) + Tailwind watcher via foreman
bin/rails test # Run unit/integration tests
bin/rails test:system # Run system tests (Capybara + Selenium)
bin/rails test test/models/foo_test.rb # Run a single test fileLinting & Security:
bin/rubocop -f github # Lint (Omakase style)
bin/brakeman --no-pager # Rails security scan
bin/bundler-audit # Gem vulnerability auditDatabase:
bin/rails db:prepare # Create + migrate
bin/rails db:reset # Drop, create, migrate, seedRails 8.1 app — currently scaffolded with minimal domain logic (routes only expose the /up health check). The structure to build on:
Frontend: Tailwind CSS + Stimulus JS + ImportMap (no bundler). Turbo Rails for SPA-like navigation. PWA support prepared but not wired to routes yet.
Backend: PostgreSQL as primary DB. In development, single DB. In production, three separate DBs: primary, cache (Solid Cache, 256MB), and queue (Solid Queue).
Background processing: Solid Queue (runs inside Puma in production). Solid Cable for Action Cable. Solid Cache for Rails.cache.
Deployment: Kamal + Docker. Thruster sits in front of Puma for HTTP asset caching/compression. Deployment target is configured in config/deploy.yml.
CI (GitHub Actions): Runs Brakeman, importmap audit, RuboCop, unit tests (with Postgres), and system tests sequentially on push.
RuboCop is configured via rubocop-rails-omakase (.rubocop.yml inherits from it). Run bin/rubocop before committing.
Always prefix commands with rtk. If RTK has a dedicated filter, it uses it. If not, it passes through unchanged. This means RTK is always safe to use.
Important: Even in command chains with &&, use rtk:

git add . && git commit -m "msg" && git push
