Migrated to Jira: DRIVER-156

v4 release scope

  • Remove public protocol V1 and V2 enum values and all implementation paths.
  • Make protocol V3 the minimum supported protocol.
  • Document Cassandra 2.1+ as the server compatibility floor.
  • Cover negotiation, explicit-version selection, and rejection of removed versions.
  • Record the intentional public removals in the exact v4 ApiCompat allowlist.

    That's a great idea. I haven't played with Csharp in... 20 years? Maybe more? But I can give it a shot some weekend, just for fun.
