Restoration of Google Speech Recognition gets stuck, not finishing other system apps

Hi,

I am at the latest LOS build for Pixel 4a (lineage-22.2-20251030-nightly-sunfish-signed.zip from https://download.lineageos.org/devices/sunfish/builds ).

Observation: all the apps can be restored but when I select the restore of "System Apps" then it gets stuck at the "Speech Recognition and syntesis from Google" entry. The rotating circle icon keeps rotating forever, the backup medium (USB disk) cannot be properly unmounted either.

I have tried to reset the settings of that Speech Recognition. Not helping.

Actually I don't care about this app, its settings can get lost IMHO. But unfortunately, it is part of the group "System Apps" which I can either select or deselect. My wish: have an option to deselect invidual parts of the "system apps" group.

Okay, workaround found for now: going to app settings and disabling this app explicitly (ignoring all warnings) prior to attempting the restore operation. Then it's simply skipped with a warnings in the restore (and pushing the exlamation-mark icon then is not doing anything, which may be another seedfault bug, dunno). Anyway, the app can be reactivated later.

Thanks for flagging this! Would it be possible to export a logcat via in-app expert options right after restore hangs/fails? My guess is that this app somehow trips up the restore API.

Sure, this is what logcat captured, filtered for "seedfault" (case-insensitive). I hope that helps.

sorry, a filtered log is almost useless. The log export from seedvault itself contains everything needed to diagnose issues.
if that's not an option, looking for the package name of that speech app and pasting everything around this would be more helpful.
