Adding new/additional "tournament options" "bergval"

How can new/additional "tournament options" be added?
By the way I would like to add:

• a "double knock-out-system"
• Bergvall system (additional KO round for loosers to the winner to get the best second)
• modified Bergval (additional KO round for loosers to final participants, to get the two best 3. places)

You would have to add a new tournament option and the code to handle it. I haven't touched this app in years so I don't know how easy it would be, but that's how you'd do it. Not sure if double knockout is double elimination but we have the latter.
