Fix occasional transport pipe slowness

We're encountering an issue with writing to a named pipe in Ruby. While most of our write operations complete in microseconds, we're experiencing periodic slowdowns. Specifically, every 8th iteration or so takes significantly longer to write, up to several hundred milliseconds. What's more concerning is that these delays appear to be increasing over time. This behavior is unexpected and we're currently unclear on the root cause, whether it's resource contention, throttling, or something else.
