General Notes From Conversation (07/24) #30

Description

@puja-trivedi

Ontology Alignment

  • there has to be some level of notion of how close to the root of an ontology something is
  • thinking about it from an ontological space of how close to the root you are, because the closer to root you are, the more generic it gets. Alignment is really about how specific you get rather than how generic you get.

UNData

  • Looked at UNData, there was a curation flag that was attached to anything that was made in the system. There could be a curation team that looks at this, but the curation flag itself could be inserted through some automatic process.
  • @puja-trivedi - Look back at undata with the adapters from the ones that we had. And not recreate the wheel, like whatever problems you face.
  • Note: undata was created in about a 3 day span. So take everything with grains of salt that just; there are some reasonable ideas in there.
