A Free macOS App Built on parakeet-mlx – Looking for Feedback

Hey folks 👋

I just released a lightweight macOS app that uses parakeet-mlx as the core for transcription. It’s totally free to use, and I’m actively working on it — any feedback is super welcome.

A few things about the app:

• It uses multi-threaded, chunked model downloads to better handle slow or flaky networks.
• The UI is clean and minimal — just the essentials.
• You can export transcriptions to .srt and .vtt subtitle formats.

What’s next:

I’m planning to add support for qwen3-30 soon, so the app can help with tasks like summarization, translation, and general cleanup of the transcribed text.
