Expand possible dtypes for sep.

To whom it may concern:

It would be nice to expand the possible dtypes available for use by sep. It looks like the possible numpy data types available for use in sep are dtype=single, double, bool, ubyte, intc.

I'm working with images that are uint16 types, and it would be nice to not have to do a type conversion on these data.
