Sergio Alexo is a Winnipeg-based DJ originally from Ukraine, known for delivering pure, uplifting energy through dynamic sets rooted in groovy house.
His musical journey started in childhood, learning to play songs on piano by ear using online videos. At 14, inspired by a friend who introduced him to music production, Sergio began experimenting with FL Studio. Without any formal training, he created his first track—“Unnamed”—relying entirely on instinct, marking the beginning of his self-taught path.
By 16, Sergio stepped into DJing after getting his first controller, quickly developing his skills. However, his progression was interrupted by the war in Ukraine, forcing him to relocate and rebuild multiple times. After moving to Canada, he paused music for nearly two years to focus on adapting, learning the language, and building a stable life.
His return came through an opportunity from Greg, owner of SHO Coffee Bar, who gave him a platform to start DJing again. What began as unpaid sets turned into a key growth period, where Sergio developed his crowd-reading ability and refined his signature feel-good house sound.
Determined to take things further, Sergio invested in professional gear and began building his brand. After connecting with Timur, a DJ and event organizer behind Lost Dancing, he was invited to perform at Dreams, marking his first club appearance. From there, he expanded into private events, weddings, and cultural parties, eventually becoming a paid resident DJ at SHO.
Today, Sergio performs multiple times per week, delivering groove-driven house sets while selectively incorporating elements of hip-hop and R&B to enhance energy and versatility—without losing his core sound.
