Delete files without extensions

Windows 7 x64, fd 10.2.0.

Problem

Files without extensions in the current folder are

$ fd --type f -E *.*
CHANGES
COPYRIGHT
InstallFiles
InstallFlags
LICENSE
SHA256

I want to delete them, but no matter how hard I try, I am out of luck. And what is more annoying is the lack of some --verbose or --debug flag to see how the data is passed to the next command (del in this case).

$ fd --type f -E *.* -x del
$ fd --type f -E *.* -x del {}
$ fd --type f -E *.* -x del {/}
[fd error]: Command not found: del
[fd error]: Command not found: del
[fd error]: Command not found: del
[fd error]: Command not found: del
[fd error]: Command not found: del
[fd error]: Command not found: del

$ fd --type f -E *.* -x cmd.exe /c del
$ fd --type f -E *.* -x cmd.exe /c del {}
Invalid switch - "LICENSE".
Parameter format not correct - "SHA256".
Invalid switch - "InstallFlags".
Invalid switch - "InstallFiles".
Invalid switch - "CHANGES".
Invalid switch - "COPYRIGHT".

It seems as if fd has no idea about del command of Windows shell.

Solution

But this command finally worked as expected.

$ fd --type f -E *.* -x cmd /c del {/}
(files without extension are deleted)

$ fd --type f -E *.*
(no more files without extension that can be deleted)

Alternatives

$ fd --type f -E *.* -x powershell -c del '{}'

$ fd --type f -E *.* -x busybox rm

[tmccombs]

It seems as if fd has no idea about del command of Windows shell.

That is correct. del is a builtin of the shell, so fd can't invoke it directly, it need to be done by the shell.

I am a little supprised using cmd.exe doesn't work, but I don't know enough about windows to know why.
