Why do we have pagesByGuid?

In the Project class, we have pagesByGuid. What is its purpose? Why should we have this separate data structure that we must not forget to manage?

This ticket is just my idle thought that needs research to answer. I put it there because we might want to refactor this part depending on the answer.
