Description

Honestly, I have no idea what's going on, but I keep getting an error.
The moment I connect my Android device, an error message pops up in the middle of the screen.

The app seems to be running fine in the background, but as soon as I press "OK," it crashes.
No clue what's causing this.

Steps To Reproduce

1. First-time setup
2. Connect Android and PC
3. Error appears!
4. Press "OK" → App crashes
5. Sad 😢
6. Restart the app
7. Connect Android and PC again
8. Error appears again
9. Even sadder 😢

Might be a compatibility issue with this PC, but I'm at my parents' place right now, and this is the only Windows machine I have.
I'll give it another shot on a different PC next month.

By the way, I checked for log files, but nothing was output.
Maybe there's an issue with the logging process, but I didn’t check the whole source code, and I’m not super familiar with it, so I have no clue. Sorry!

I looked in the folder where the logs should be, but all I found were "Sefirah.pfx", "Sefirah.db", and "settings/user_settings.json".

this is related to another issue #18 primarily a problem with the Windows 10 and storage integration, disabling and removing the storage access permission for the Android App will fix your issue. And yes the logging configuration does have an issue sometimes.

Edit: I will look into this issue again, I misread the Windows version (that was Win 11 dumb me)

Instructions for installing with the zip file:

Extract everything
Right-click on the Install.ps1
Click "Run with Powershell"

Hopefully, it fixes the logs not being recorded and could you also try to connect without giving the Android app permission for storage?

@progettarsi provide some logs along with the Windows version and Android version using the above package and apk so that I can get an idea on what might be wrong.

@progettarsi Seems to be the issue with the Storage integration just like others, disable the storage access in the Android and that should remove your error. Also provide your Windows version (search winver). I will let you know once I find a way to reproduce and fix this, thank you.

@shrimqy i reinstalled the app so the access was disabled by default. Also i have custom windows, Ghost Spectre (ig it's called so) 24H2 26100.2894

@progettarsi see if onedrive or phone link (storage integration) works in your system like it is supposed to. If it does work then maybe I can investigate further.
