Hello,
I would like to suggest a feature that allows using the connection even when the devices are connected to different internet networks.

For example:

If the phone is connected to the mobile network and the PC is connected to the fixed network, I would like them to still be able to communicate and work together.
If I enable Wi-Fi tethering on the smartphone and the PC connects to it, I would like the connection to work seamlessly.
Additionally, if the fixed network on the PC stops working but the local network is still active, it would be useful to have a function that allows the smartphone to automatically enable Wi-Fi tethering (or provide a button/notification) when it detects that the internet connection is down but the local network is still operational.
A notification could appear asking: "Do you want to enable Wi-Fi tethering?" — with options for Yes or No.

This can be done though a bit tricky, for connecting outside of the local network you would need a mesh VPN (like tailscale). And in that way, it will just be like connecting via a local network. That said, in Android AFAIK you can only have one VPN enabled.

You meant Wi-Fi hotspot yes? The connection through that is possible, but I don't know if the app can turn it on or off without explicit permissions due to Android restrictions. I will look into this if it can be done though.

yes right I meant Wi-Fi hotspot, actually you are right to activate Wi-Fi hotspot you need permissions to do it and from android 14 onwards they have limited the thing, I noticed the thing with an app that is called macrodroid, as the name says it is used to automate things on android like the one I asked you, to do it it needs that from the pc you give it an adb command but yes since it is not a preinstalled app I can not give it anymore, it gives me an error saying permission denied it is not a preinstalled app (something like that) for security reasons and this action is blocked. Anyway thanks for the reply

In macrodroid, iirc you can enable/disable wifi hotspots but you need to install another app which is targeted for a lower API level. And that's probably the only way to do this at the moment without rooting the phone.

If anyone does have a workaround for this, let me know.
