What does align_img do in test.py?

Hello, I'd like to ask one question about the role of align_img method in util/preprocess.py.
Actually I want to remove that method from my code since landmarks argument it takes is from get_landmarks method and
its runtime is too long.

Can I get any clue about this? Thank you for your answers in advance!
