ARM Processors Support

Hello,
i'm trying to use this Lib on MacOs Avalonia UI, there's a reason that it gives me this error(i tried reinstalling it from nuget)?

Unhandled exception. System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Siemens.Simatic.S7.Webserver.API, Version=3.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'. The system cannot find the file specified.

File name: 'Siemens.Simatic.S7.Webserver.API, Version=3.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'

On a windows pc it works correctly.
I will need to run this lib on linux, i want to know if maybe it's a problem of my mac and not that's not supported on arm architectures.

What part exactly do you try to run?
The executable of the WebAppManager? Because that would not be runnable I am afraid...
In general this is packaged to NuGet with multiple .NET targets -> afaik .net6.0 should be runnable on linux ...
Can you elaborate on your setup - how exactly you try to use this Lib on MacOs?

No, i'm not running the webapp manager, i know it should run but when i call any object of the lib i'll get that message, i didn't do anything, i just installed the lib an tried to connect to it

I tried either on a linux-arm64 machine now and i have the same result, i think that maybe in the csproj linux is not specified so it's not running, when i build it gives me this message:
0>CSC: Warning CS8012 : L'assembly 'Siemens.Simatic.S7.Webserver.API, Version=2.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' referred to is targeting a different processor.

I can confirm that the problem is only when it's compiled for arm processors, linux-x64 works correctly

I see, maybe we can try implementing #146 to fix this issue ?

i think the only thing is to check if all dependencies supports it and open a pr i don't see other reasons why it won't work

are you sure you are running the .net 6 version of the library, if you run the .net 4.8 variant that might have problems...
Otherwise I only see that I configured:
net48;netstandard2.0;net6.0;net7.0;net8.0
x64;AnyCPU;x86
and the setup action https://github.com/actions/setup-dotnet
=> maybe it is deployed for X64 or something, I am not entirely sure.
I do not think that any of the dependencies will be the issue here...

I think I will need more information about your system.
Also I doubt that I will be able to reproduce the issue, since I do not have any Linux machine, nor a VM where I could set it up...

But I think what would be good information is:
Linux OS, version,
Processor name, architecture

So far I have searched the web for similar stuff and some things must have gotten better with .net 7 and .net 8, so that might help.
For the runner if you checked that I had a timeout so the configuration is probably wrong for the runner name ... to ensure it runs on Linux that still might be nice to also get fixed, but I am not sure when I can take some time for that - if you can feel free to try and make a pr...
Did you have any progress/ find some related stuff?

The issue persist only on machines with ARM processors, i think it's only an issue related to the fact that arm is not specified on the package

@Nikotecnology I have also added .net9.0 support to the library and extended the ci to also run on linux - sadly linux-arm-x64 runners seem to barely be available, I guess the main option there would be a self-hosted runner but I do not have one...
Please make sure to use > .net 6, best .net8 or .net9 I guess and try out whether your application then works...
Other than that I don't think there's much that I can do at this moment.
