There might not be enough here to act but:

• unexpected failure to create entry in https://log2025-alpha3.rekor.sigstage.dev/api/v2/log/entries (a 503 at timestamp: "2025-10-12T08:03:23.215583Z", receiveTimestamp: "2025-10-12T08:03:28.404151978Z")
• The 503 is marked as warning in logs: I would have expected error?
• I can't find any related logging from rekor-tiles-- maybe I just don't know what to look for?
• there are some (trillian logsigner?) mysql errors just before packets.go:155 write unix @->/cloudsql/projectsigstore-staging:us-central1:sigstore-staging-standalone-rekor-ctlog-trillian-orig-shrunk: write: broken pipe

Agreed, should be error.

My guess is it's a flake in GCP's networking stack. Maybe check Spanner and GCS errors as well? We also should have GCP tracing though that might need some tweaking.
